You have two ways to do it:

- Leave your body jewellery to soak in a saline solution, available from chemists.

- Leave it to soak in surgical spirit (70°). If you choose this way to proceed, be careful if your piece is made of acrylic, it could deteriorate (loss of colour, rough patch). This is therefore not the most advisable solution.

Notes:

You can find cleaning and disinfecting wipes. They are cheap and effective. However, they are not made to clean Bioplastic or Teflon (PTFE).

The most effective cleaning is done with an ultrasound tank. Some professionals accept to do it for free. Once more, this method is useless on materials such as PTFE or Bioplastic. Indeed, these materials absorb ultrasounds instead of reflecting them.

We don’t exchange pieces of jewellery that have been damaged during their cleaning. Especially the parts made of acrylic which would have been put in too corrosive a solution.

Cleaning the actual piercing (the little hole^^):

1) First month:

- Prior to anything, wash your hands well!

- Use antiseptic spray, and wipe with clean tissue to get rid of the impurities. Cotton is not advised, as it can leave fibres.

Notes :

This way to proceed doesn’t apply to tongue or genital piercings.

Don’t take the piece of jewelry off to clean it during the first month; the hole could fill itself up again!

2) Later on…

- You will be able to take off the piece of jewelry and leave it to soak in a saline solution.
