Labret: In the shape of a straight rod, with a circle at one end and a ball or screwing pattern at the other end. There are various sizes of Labret, like the 1.2mm or the 1.6mm. The Labret is used for lips or for cartilage.

Barbell: In the shape of a straight bar with balls or patterns at both ends. You can generally unscrew both ends. Barbell bars are used for tongue piercings at 1.6mm. The micro-Barbell, of a smaller diameter (1.2mm) is often used for a piercing at the eyebrow or for ear-piercing.
